USE OF DARTFISH AT NORTH MELBOURNE FC

Analysis software:

• We use 2 camera capture (front and side views) to analyze selected players’ kicking technique, including all Academy players (1^st -3^rd years)
• Have also used 2 camera capture for ball gathering and marking technique (front and back views)

Tagging and training analysis:

• We video every training session and tag specific styles of play to be analyzed post training. We have a training review each week whereby we show players selected plays from training.
• We use tagging at training for:

(1)   Developing a database of training drills – coaches review drills and modify them to address skill learning, tactical plays and physical requirements

(2)   Looking at team tactics and plays and gauging their success. We can then modify tactics or methods of coaching e.g.:

-          stoppages

-          ball movement in possession

-          defensive positioning/pressure when not in possession

(3)   Individual player feedback on their tactical play and decision-making

(4)   Iso-cam on selected players each session
