Associate Professor Warwick Spinks, Director Institute of Sport and Exercise Science, James Cook University

“Dartfish is our software of choice for instruction on motion analysis in sports performance, gait analysis, and occupational health and safety. The skill set provided by Dartfish significantly widens professional opportunities for our students on graduation

The Institute of Sport and Exercise Science at James Cook University uses Dartfish software to teach motion analysis theory and practice to students enrolled in the Institute’s clinical exercise physiology and sport and exercise science programs. Students use the software to analyse activities of daily living and work, sport and exercise activities undertaken by the apparently healthy and individuals with chronic and/or complex health conditions. Students may use the software in the Institute’s movement analysis laboratory, in field settings or in clinical placement settings. Derived data is used to determine the nature of sport skill performance, movement abnormalities and the effectiveness of intervention programs. A major focus is the analysis of human gait disorders arising from conditions as diverse as peripheral arterial disease, diabetes, knee and hip pathologies and lower limb injury.
